What the evidence says about money
No median or distribution exists. Published AI-influencer income figures are peak months, agency statements or follower-count estimates, not typical results (one summary says so itself).

- Review every video before it goes out for facts, taste and rights (voice, music, images)

The rules where it happens
- YouTube: You press publish yourself. YouTube's policy page says repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible for monetisation, AI is not banned outright but 'the final product must still demonstrate your creative vision'; realistic AI content must be disclosed (per a third-party timeline). I could not read the Partner Program thresholds on the page I opened. Source
- TikTok: You press publish yourself. TikTok community guidelines: realistic synthetic media must be clearly labelled; accounts operated in bulk or through unauthorised automation are not allowed; creating new accounts to evade a ban is prohibited. Source
The hard part: where people quit
The moment: Hours of making and few views. Why: Mass-produced AI channels are ineligible for monetisation and need clear creative input. What helps: One recurring character with a real point of view beats volume.
When to stop
If after 6 months of weekly posting the channel has not reached the platform's monetisation requirements or one paid offer, stop. If a platform removes monetisation or labels the channel as inauthentic, do not open replacement accounts.
What can go wrong
- Demonetisation or removal for mass-produced or undisclosed AI content
- Cloned or imitated real voices and faces can breach platform rules and the law; Spotify bans unauthorised voice clones and deepfakes
- Uploading AI music or tracks to inflate streams has led to criminal charges (a US man pleaded guilty in March 2026 and agreed to forfeit USD 8.09 million)
- Months of work before any payout, and views are not under your control
- Subscription costs for video and voice tools can exceed income
Age, region and other limits
Minimum age 18. Monetisation programmes have follower, watch-time and country limits that I did not confirm; a YouTube Partner Program rewrite announced 10 Aug 2026 takes effect 1 Feb 2027 (third-party source).
